Marianne van der Bolt created De Graanvrouwe van Limmel/ The Damsel of Limmel….in 2010…I assisted Marianne in realizing her statue in bronze. Reliefs on the dress of the Damsel were my creation.
There never ever was a Damsel as such. The village of Limmel was a home to the factory workers of the potteryplant owned and run by Petrus Regout. On the outskirts of the village though you will find eight or so mansions – Petrus Reout lived in one of them – referred to in Dutch as ‘castles’.  It is therefore likely that a Damsel occasionally sauntered through the cornfields surrounding these estates.
